We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team for the 2023-24 school year in Beaumont, CA. As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students with disabilities achieve their academic and functional goals. This is a full-time position that offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and contribute to their overall development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and in collaboration with other members of the educational team.
  • Assess students' motor, sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional skills to identify areas of need and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions and activities to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and self-care abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and monitor individualized treatment plans and goals for students.
  • Conduct regular progress monitoring and maintain accurate records of students' performance and intervention outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive educational plans.
  • Provide training and support to teachers, parents, and other staff members on strategies and accommodations to promote students' success in the school environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in occupational therapy, and integrate new knowledge into practice.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of California.
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and ongoing learning.
