Job Opening: School Psychologist

Location: Fernley, NV (20 minutes east of Reno) or Silver Springs
School Year: 2024-2025
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. This position offers full-time employment with 37.5 hours per week, serving students in either the Fernley or Silver Springs location in Nevada. As a School Psychologist, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students through assessment, intervention, and consultation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective interventions and supports.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students as needed.
  • Participate in the special education eligibility process, including conducting evaluations and attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  • Support the implementation of school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and other initiatives aimed at promoting a positive school climate.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform decision-making and monitor student progress.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff on topics related to mental health, behavior management, and social-emotional learning.
  • Stay current with best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Valid license or certification as a School Psychologist in Nevada (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably in a public school.
  • Strong assessment, consultation, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
