Whenever there is a shift within education and related services, people wonder: Is this going to work for our students? More and more research is coming out on teletherapy, and the answer is repeatedly a resounding yes. With proper training, support and tools, teletherapy providers are just as effective as on-site service delivery, and often more so.
Teletherapy can be effective for many students with special needs. Online therapy has worked with students who have articulation problems and research has shown that online therapy can be effective, especially in cases when:
- A student needs a specialist that isn’t available in their area
- A student feels stigmatized by being pulled out of class
- Flexibility is needed to work around a student’s busy schedule
- A student needs a less distracting environment to focus
- A student feels less intimidated in the online environment
As a ProCare Teletherapist, your day will look a lot like that of a typical on-site therapist, with the added benefit of working from home and having more opportunities to connect with students who need you. You have more flexibility to build a schedule that works for your life, so you have time to do the things you love outside of work. But with us, flexible doesn’t have to mean inconsistent. We're paying you for every bit of work you do, not per assessment. With us, you have contracted hours that you can count on that remain consistent for the duration of your assignment.
