Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at ProCare Therapy and make a significant impact on students’ development and educational success! As an integral member of our healthcare organization, you will work with various caseloads to help children with conditions such as autism, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, and physical disabilities to achieve their maximum potential in daily activities and social interactions. Responsibilities:
- Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of students' functional abilities related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Collaborating with occupational therapists (OTs) to develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment findings and educational objectives.
- Implementing therapeutic interventions and activities designed to improve students' motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, handwriting skills, and other areas impacting their ability to participate in school activities.
- Providing direct one-on-one or group therapy sessions to students, both in designated therapy spaces and within classroom settings.
- Recommending and assisting in the selection and use of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and modifications to support students' functional performance and participation in school activities.
- Consulting with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment and daily routines. Collaborating with educational teams to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Monitoring students' progress towards goals, documenting therapy sessions and outcomes, and providing ongoing feedback to OTs, teachers, and parents/guardians.
- Providing education and guidance to parents and caregivers on strategies and techniques to support their child's occupational therapy goals at home.
- Adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and school district policies related to the provision of occupational therapy services. Engaging in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in pediatric occupational therapy.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire State COTA license
- Desire to work in pediatrics and make a difference.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
