Clarkesville, GA | Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Job Opportunity | 23/24 SY | Full-Time
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? ProCare Therapy has teamed up with an excellent school district in the Clarkesville, Georgia area looking for someone to join their team as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming 23/24 school year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing interpreting and transliterating services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, to help them access their educational programs. This position includes relocation assistance for qualified candidates who live outside of the Clarkesville area.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support students' academic and social success
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interpreting and transliterating services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications to support student success
- Provide education and training to teachers and other staff members on effective communication strategies with deaf and hard-of-hearing students
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpreting or a related field
- Active certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- EIPA score of at least 3.5
- Experience providing interpreting and transliterating services in a K-12 school setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to equity and inclusion in the provision of interpreting and transliterating services
- Familiarity with assistive technology and other accommodations for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
