Job Description
We are currently looking for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to work with a school district near Arlington, Virginia. This is a great opportunity for the ongoing school year with a strong level of support on staff.
Job Type:
- Develop and implement lesson plans for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, accommodating individual differences and using appropriate instructional strategies, materials, and technology, while collaborating with special education teachers to modify curricula according to IEP guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning styles and achievements, manage classroom environments and student behavior, oversee the work of instructional aides, and maintain required reports and records, ensuring they align with the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Participate in professional development activities, maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues, and engage in extracurricular activities, faculty meetings, and staff committees to support the mission of the school district.
- Pay - $35-45/hr
Qualifications:
- Masters Level Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students.
- Requires State Teaching Certification in Deaf Education (DHH Cert).
