Deaf & Hard of Hearing Specialist Job - Palatine, IL

Applicants must have at least a Master’s in Deaf Education

We are currently hosting interviews for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher position at one of our partnering school districts in the Palatine, Illinois area for the remainder of the current school year. 

Position Details: 

• Start/End date: Feb 1 2021 - May 7 2021
  Full time - 37.5 hours
  Approximately 20 students, mix of direct services and staff consultation.
• Students range in age from preschool to transition. Most students are in general education placements and require supplementary instruction from a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing. Some students have multiple disabilities. It is a diverse caseload.
• Must be Licensed in Illinois as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of hearing (PEL)
• The candidate for this position must be available for in person or remote teaching. Experience as an itinerant teacher of the DHH is required. Candidates who have not worked as an itinerant in the past, or who are not available for in-person instruction will not be considered.
