The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. The position is full-time and requires a commitment to helping students achieve academic and personal success.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective instruction in both math and science subjects in accordance with state and district standards
- Assess student learning and adjust instruction to meet individual student needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and development
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to meet the needs of all students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and achievement
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Active state teaching certification in Michigan for middle school education with a math and/or science endorsement
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement engaging and effective lesson plans in both math and science subjects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to equity and inclusion in the classroom
- Familiarity with the use of technology in instruction
