Location: Sullivan, Illinois
Caseload: Life Skills Classroom

About the Role:
Are you ready to make a lasting difference in the lives of students? ProCare Therapy is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. If you're committed to providing individualized support to students with special needs, we want you to bring your expertise and dedication to our Life Skills Classroom.

In this role, you'll help students develop key life skills that will enable them to achieve their personal goals and experience success in school and beyond. You’ll collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to create a supportive environment that nurtures growth, independence, and confidence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and monitor individualized IEPs for students based on their academic and personal needs.
  • Modify teaching strategies and materials to cater to each student’s learning style and abilities.
  • Integrate innovative tools and techniques to keep students engaged, challenged, and supported.
  • Assess student progress regularly, adjusting plans as needed to ensure optimal development.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to foster a well-rounded educational experience.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress, strengths, and areas for growth.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A valid Illinois Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
  • Deep understanding of IEP development and modification.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Additional Skills That Will Set You Apart:

  • Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive tools to support learning.
  • Experience with behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to the evolving needs of students.
