Position: Special Education Teacher
Location: Naperville, IL
Caseload: K-12
Position Details: The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, as well as providing instruction in academic and functional skills. The ideal candidate should be skilled in assessing student's abilities, developing appropriate instructional strategies, and collaborating with other educators and families.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide instruction in academic and functional skills based on student's abilities and IEP goals.
- Assess student's abilities and progress using a variety of assessment tools.
- Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations to meet the needs of individual students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to provide comprehensive services to students with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and student progress.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
- Active state certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Strong instructional skills and ability to develop appropriate instructional strategies based on individual student's abilities and needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
