Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

Position: DHH Teacher
Location: Oakland, Ca (94608)
Duration: 2024/2025 School Year; Full Time 32.5 hours per week
Caseload: K-2 caseload, though currently there are only kindergarteners in need.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs for students with hearing impairments.
• Provide direct instruction in various settings.
• Use diverse teaching strategies and technologies.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families.
• Conduct assessments and adjust instruction.
• Advocate for student needs and provide resources.
• Stay updated on best practices and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Strong understanding of hearing impairments.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with diverse student needs preferred.
