On-Site Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
Location: Kansas City, KS
Duration: ASAP – May 23, 2025
Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Caseload: K-12, up to 40 students (exact campus and grade levels to be confirmed)
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join the educational team in Kansas City, Kansas. This position involves working directly with students with hearing impairments, providing essential support to ensure they have access to a high-quality education. The teacher will support students across multiple grade levels, fostering an inclusive and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Individualized Instruction: Adapt lessons and educational activities to meet the specific needs of students with hearing impairments, ensuring academic progress.
- Communication Support: Utilize sign language, speech reading, amplification devices, and other strategies to facilitate effective communication within the classroom.
- Collaboration: Work alongside classroom teachers, staff, and parents to create a supportive educational environment for students with hearing challenges.
- Case Management: Track student progress, implement necessary accommodations, and participate in IEP development and reviews.
- Advocacy: Promote understanding of students’ needs within the school community and assist in advocating for their success.
Required Qualifications:
- Kansas Teaching License with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
- Experience with students with hearing impairments is ideal
- Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues

Compensation:
- Hourly pay rate ranging from $35 to $40, depending on qualifications and experience
