Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher (Leave of Absence)

Location: Skokie, IL (North Chicago)
Dates: ASAP – March 21, 2025 (with possible extension)
Full Time: 2024-2025 School Year


Position Overview:
Winnetka Public Schools is looking for a Special Education Teacher to cover a medical leave of absence through at least March 21st. After that, there is a maternity leave need, and the contractor may be reassigned for the remainder of the year.


Caseload:

  • 8 8th grade students in need of resource-room support.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in toileting support.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid IL PEL (Professional Educator License).
  • Must have an LBS1 or LBS2 endorsement.
  • Prior experience with resource-room support is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students in the resource room setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support students' individual needs.
  • Implement IEPs and provide accommodations and modifications as needed.

Compensation:

  • Competitive pay based on experience.
