Position Overview
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with students in a Life-Skills Classroom, guiding them on their journey toward greater independence and success. Your dedication will make a direct impact, as you collaborate with a supportive team of educators, specialists, and families to create an environment where every student thrives.

What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to the specific needs of each student.
- Tailor your teaching methods to engage students of all learning levels and abilities.
- Use creative teaching techniques and assistive technologies to make learning both accessible and exciting.
- Regularly evaluate student progress and modify lessons and strategies as needed to meet individual needs.
- Partner with fellow educators, counselors, and specialists to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Maintain open, positive communication with parents and guardians, keeping them updated on student progress and goals.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (a Master’s degree is preferred).
- A valid Special Education Teaching License or the eligibility to be certified in Illinois.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, disabilities, or behavioral challenges.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and strategies for success.
- A genuine passion for student growth and a commitment to making a difference.
