Location: Henderson, NV
Dates: January - June
Hours: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
Caseload: 5-10 students (K-12 and some 20-year-olds)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a team of educators in Henderson, NV. This part-time, short-term role will focus on supporting students with visual impairments, from kindergarten through young adults, in reaching academic milestones. The TVI will be responsible for writing curriculum, creating assessments, and developing personalized learning strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of visually impaired students
- Create and implement assessments to track students' academic progress
- Provide individualized or small-group instruction to students (5-10 students)
- Support students in areas such as mobility, daily living skills, and academics
- Collaborate with the school team to create inclusive learning experiences
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Education for the Visually Impaired
- Nevada Teaching Certification in Visual Education (Required)
- Experience with K-12 students, including young adults
- Ability to write and adjust curriculum based on core standards
- Open to new graduates
