PCA/PARA
ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated PCA/PARA for a position at Gettysburg Area School District, supporting both an elementary student and a high school student with medical and daily living needs. The position will be part-time with a split caseload between two students. This role requires a caring individual to assist with various needs, including daily support in the classroom and during outings.
- Assignment Period: December 2, 2024 – May 30, 2025
- Hours per Week: 37.5
- Caseload:
- Elementary Student: Kindergarten girl with Type 1 diabetes.
- High School Student: Teenage boy with spina bifida. The student comes to school 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays) and requires assistance with changing, toileting, organizing his belongings, and support during school activities and outings.
- Some bus riding may be involved.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, especially those with special needs
- Comfort and ability to assist with personal care tasks such as toileting and feeding
- Ability to support students in the classroom and on outings
- Must be able to work with a split caseload of an elementary student and a high school student
- Caring, compassionate, and patient demeanor
