Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) – Part-Time to Full-Time Opportunity in Marion, NC
Job Description: Are you a dedicated and skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) looking for a rewarding opportunity to support a student in Marion, NC? We are seeking an RBT to join the McDowell County School District to provide 1:1 support for a self-contained student with sensory needs, academic challenges, and the use of an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device. This position offers the chance to work closely with a student to foster growth and learning through tailored behavioral and academic support.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide 1:1 support for a student in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Focus on sensory needs, sensory regulation, and academic skills.
- Assist as a communication partner for a student using an AAC device.
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans to support the student’s growth and progress.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and the support team to ensure the student’s success.
Position Details:
- Location: Marion, NC (McDowell County School District)
- Caseload: 1:1 student in a self-contained setting.
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week in January, transitioning to full-time hours starting in February.
- Start Date: ASAP, with an end date of June 6th, 2025.
- Hours: Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in North Carolina is required.
- Experience working with students with sensory needs and academic support is preferred.
- Ability to support students in a self-contained classroom and adapt to their communication needs.
- Passion for helping students succeed in both academic and behavioral goals.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay: $20-$28 per hour, based on experience.
- Transition from part-time to full-time hours.
