Job Title: School Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Whitney Point, New York

Job Description: We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our school healthcare team in Whitney Point, New York. As a School RN, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to students and promoting a safe and healthy learning environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatric nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting the well-being of students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as prescribed
• Assess and manage student injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop individualized healthcare plans for students with special needs
• Monitor and maintain student health records and documentation
• Conduct health screenings, immunization assessments, and vision/hearing tests as required
• Educate students, families, and staff on health promotion, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices
• Assist in the management of communicable diseases and implement infection control measures
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, community resources, and support services to meet students' healthcare needs
• Participate in school health initiatives, committees, and professional development activities

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program
• Experience in pediatric nursing or a related field preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a school environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to school health services
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• CPR certification and basic first aid knowledge
