Job Title: School-Based Occupational Therapist

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team and contribute to our commitment to student success.
Position Overview:
- Full time position
- Bilingual in Spanish prefered
- Oct - Jan 20th, 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs, strengths, and areas for improvement. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Intervention and Therapy: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, adaptive strategies, and skill-building activities. Tailor interventions to support academic performance, fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop and implement strategies that support students' educational and developmental goals. Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on program modifications and accommodations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, treatment plans, and therapy sessions. Prepare reports and documentation for IEP meetings, progress reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy and special education. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid Occupational Therapist license in the State.
- Experience: Experience in a school-based setting or working with children with diverse needs. Experience with IEP development and implementation is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the dynamic needs of students.
