A unique opportunity exists for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a 7th-grade student in a middle school setting located in Hesperia, CA. This contract position is focused on providing one-on-one interpretation services, facilitating effective communication and enhancing the educational experience for the student.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (e.g., NIC, RID)
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpretation skills
• Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with middle school age students
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and the students family
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Location:
Hesperia, CA

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services in American Sign Language for the student during classes and other school activities
• Collaborate with educational staff to ensure the students unique communication needs are met
• Attend IEP meetings and maintain ongoing communication with teachers and support staff
• Prepare for and facilitate the transition of interpreted sessions as required
• Support the student in developing social and academic skills through effective communication
