This role is suitable for both Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) who have a strong background in healthcare, particularly with students requiring specialized medical assistance.
Qualifications:
- Valid LPN or RN License in Pennsylvania
- Must have experience in Type 1 diabetes management
- Proficient in insulin administration and blood sugar monitoring
- Previous work in school settings preferred but not mandatory
- Current PA clearances
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care to students with diabetes
- Monitor and manage students' health needs throughout the school day
- Collaborate with educational staff to create a supportive environment
- Administer insulin and conduct regular blood sugar checks
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty regarding health concerns
- Maintain accurate records of student health data and interventions
