This role focuses on delivering comprehensive Orientation and Mobility (O&M) services tailored to K-12 students, fostering their independence and safety within various surroundings.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist from recognized authorities such as ACVREP or NBPCB.
- Experience in writing and implementing IEPs, specifically related to O&M.
- Strong ability to monitor progress and document outcomes for students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Orientation and Mobility assessments and services as outlined in individual IEPs.
- Develop and write O&M goals and objectives for students, ensuring personalized support.
- Maintain accurate progress monitoring for each student on your caseload.
- Engage in Medicaid billing processes as required.
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to promote students' mobility and independence.
