Job Description

Procare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Barker, NY. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students achieve their fullest potential by addressing their functional and developmental needs within an educational setting. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to assess needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapeutic interventions to enhance students' abilities to participate in school activities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students to determine their functional abilities and needs within the school environment.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student evaluations.
• Provide direct therapy services to students to improve fine motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and overall functional abilities.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive educational environment.
• Educate students, parents, and school staff on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support ongoing development and participation in school activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of occupational therapy through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in New York.
• Experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
