An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide essential services in an educational setting. This position is based in Chicago, IL, within an elementary school environment, and is designed to extend through the full semester, serving a diverse student population.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Illinois
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with K-8 students
- Strong understanding of special education legislation and best practices
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience with SLD, OHI, DD, and ED diagnoses is preferred
Location:
- Chicago, IL, serving at three school sites
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to a caseload of 52 students
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support student needs
- Conduct assessments and develop tailored therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and student progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment
