An opportunity awaits for a dedicated professional to provide Occupational Therapy services in an engaging elementary school environment. This position is critical in supporting students' diverse needs, particularly within special education settings.
Qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in Kansas
- Experience in school-based therapy, particularly with elementary and preschool-aged children
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques, including those for students with autism
Location:
Lawrence, KS
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect Occupational Therapy services to approximately 10-20 students, tailored to their individual needs
- Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and other therapists to create comprehensive support plans
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' therapy needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and treatment outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development
- Provide instruction and resources to staff and families on supporting students' needs
