Job Description
In Newport, NC, an opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist to support students in an elementary school setting for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position involves working closely with K-5th grade students to address a variety of developmental and educational needs through tailored therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other therapists
- Knowledge of IEPs and relevant therapeutic practices
Location: Newport, NC
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine students needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic activities to promote motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure cohesive support for students goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Provide training and resources to teachers and parents regarding occupational therapy
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided and student progress
