Job Description
An opportunity exists for Occupational Therapists to support elementary and various school settings in Newport News, VA. This contract position runs from August 11 through June 15, offering a dynamic environment focused on enhancing the educational experiences of students through therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia state Occupational Therapy license
- Relevant experience in school-based therapy, particularly with elementary-age students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques and modalities
Location:
- Newport News, VA
- Assigned to multiple schools including Glenwood ES, Camelot, Joliff, and Grassfield
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student needs and develop tailored therapeutic activities
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to support students overall development
- Maintain documentation and records as required by state regulations and school policies
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
