Job Description
An opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist to provide essential services in a K-12 school setting during the extended school year. This role is located in San Jose, CA, and is focused on supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques applicable in a school setting
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to support student goals
- Implement therapeutic activities to enhance motor skills and sensory processing
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress made
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Provide guidance to school staff on strategies to support students needs
