An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work in a supportive K-12 school environment in Suffolk, VA. This full-time, itinerant position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with school-based therapy practices
Location: Suffolk, VA
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' occupational therapy needs
- Develop and implement appropriate therapy plans based on individual assessments
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive support for students
- Provide direct therapy services to a varied K-12 caseload
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
