Job Description
A contract opportunity is available for dedicated professionals fluent in American Sign Language, seeking to make a meaningful impact in a K-12 educational setting in Seattle, WA. This role involves working one-on-one with students from the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) population, providing essential support and facilitating communication to enhance their learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working with DHH students in an educational environment
- Associate's degree or higher, or a score of 461+ on the ETS exam
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff
Location: Seattle, WA (K-12 School Environment)
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers using ASL
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Support students in their academic and social development
- Collaborate with educational staff to create an inclusive learning environment
