An opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in school psychology within a K-12 educational environment. This role is crucial in providing assessments and consultations that support students' unique educational needs.
Location: Byron, IL
Responsibilities:
- Function as a diagnostic component of the IEP team, determining student eligibility for special services and resources.
- Identify and utilize appropriate evaluation tools based on referral concerns to assess student needs effectively.
- Interpret evaluation results and compile reports that convey meaningful insights at IEP eligibility conferences.
- Evaluate students fit within their current instructional environments, considering learning styles and available resources.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop solutions for academic and behavioral challenges.
- Actively participate in district-wide Response to Intervention (RtI) teams and meet with parents to discuss assessment results before IEP meetings.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in School Psychology or related field.
- Valid state certification or licensure in School Psychology.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in evaluating and supporting diverse learning needs.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Experience in collaborative settings, particularly with multidisciplinary teams.
