This contract position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique opportunity to facilitate communication and enhance the educational experience for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia Sign Language Interpreter License
• Relevant certification (e.g., RID, NIC)
• Experience interpreting in K-12 settings
• Strong knowledge of educational policies and practices related to deaf and hard of hearing students
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and staff

Location:

• Lawrenceville, GA (K-12 School Environment)

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for deaf or hard of hearing students in classroom settings
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure effective communication
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings and other required school functions
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with students and staff
• Keep up-to-date with best practices in sign language interpreting and educational support
