Located in North Charleston, SC, this opportunity involves providing vital communication support in a K-12 school setting. This role is essential for facilitating the educational experience of students who are deaf or hard of hearing through effective interpretation services.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a Bachelors degree
• 3.5 EIPA score preferred, though not required.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques.
• Experience working in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various classroom settings.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and communication needs.
• Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in sign language interpreting.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as available.
• Develop individual communication plans in conjunction with educational staff.
