Located in North Charleston, SC, this opportunity involves providing vital communication support in a K-12 school setting. This role is essential for facilitating the educational experience of students who are deaf or hard of hearing through effective interpretation services.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Bachelors degree
- 3.5 EIPA score preferred, though not required.
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques.
- Experience working in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various classroom settings.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and communication needs.
- Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in sign language interpreting.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as available.
- Develop individual communication plans in conjunction with educational staff.
