Dynamic opportunity for skilled Sign Language Interpreters to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting. This role involves providing interpretation services for students in a K-12 environment, facilitating effective communication and supporting the diverse needs of learners.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA 4.0 preferred, but candidates with substantial experience are encouraged to apply)
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with a strong understanding of deaf culture
- Experience interpreting in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, students, and staff
Location:
- Seward, NE
Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for deaf or hard-of-hearing students across various grade levels
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student communication and learning
- Assess students' interpreting needs and tailor services accordingly
- Maintain professional standards and stay updated on best practices in interpretation
- Document and track interpretation sessions and related activities
