A part-time opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in speech-language pathology within a K-12 educational setting. This role focuses on providing targeted support to students with diverse communication needs, including those who are nonverbal and utilize AAC devices.
Qualifications:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC)
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school settings
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
- Strong assessment and intervention skills
- Knowledge of relevant state and school policies regarding speech and language services
Location:
- Aurora, MO
Responsibilities:
- Assess and provide therapy for 15-20 students with speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other professionals to integrate communication goals
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy techniques as required
- Maintain documentation and records as mandated by school policies
- Support students who are nonverbal and using AAC devices in their communication development
