An opportunity exists for a dedicated specialist to take on a full-time role within an engaging educational environment in Dekalb, IL. This position focuses on supporting students with diverse communication needs from August through May, ensuring that each child receives the guidance and services necessary for their success.
Qualifications:
- Valid PEL (Professional Educator License) to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in schools.
- CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) in Speech-Language Pathology or CFY (Clinical Fellow Year) applicants welcome.
- Previous experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred.
- Strong assessment and intervention skills tailored to elementary and K-8 students.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Location: Dekalb, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments to students and develop tailored intervention plans.
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement effective strategies that support students communication needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input on students goals and progress.
- Support and educate staff and parents regarding communication disorders and intervention techniques.
