A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled professional to support students in a dynamic middle school environment in Elgin, IL. This position focuses on working with a diverse student population in a self-contained program for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
Qualifications:
- Certified SLP (SLP - CCC)
- Experience in pediatric speech therapy (SLP - Pediatrics)
- Proficient in using AAC devices and implementing assistive technology
- Strong background in expressive and receptive language development
- Active Illinois SLP licensure and PEL
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Location:
- Elgin, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to facilitate effective communication strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy techniques as required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student performance
- Support students in using communication devices and technology as needed
- Conduct therapy in a structured and supportive classroom environment
