An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled professional specializing in speech-language pathology within an educational setting. This position is designed for the upcoming semester, focusing on providing tailored support to high school students with diverse learning needs.
Location: Joliet, IL
Job Duration: Full Semester, Onsite
Schedule: 3 days per week, with a required presence on Wednesday and flexibility for the other two days, 8 AM - 3 PM
Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose students' speech and language disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to facilitate effective communication strategies.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, adapting techniques to meet their varied needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions and comply with all relevant regulations and policies.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
- Valid state licensure and certification in speech-language pathology.
- Prior experience working in a school setting, particularly with high school students, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities and their impact on student performance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
