Job Description
An opportunity exists for a skilled SLP to provide essential services within a K-12 educational setting. This contract position is located in Lansing, MI, and focuses on supporting students with severe and complex communication needs.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in SLP or related field.
- Valid Michigan State License as a SLP.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with special needs.
- Proficiency in utilizing AAC devices and complex communicators.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Location: Lansing, MI
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for approximately 30 students across two center-based programs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and other professionals to enhance students' communication skills.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of services provided and student progress.
- Provide training and support for staff and families regarding AAC devices and communication strategies.
