Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled SLP to support students in a dynamic K-12 educational environment in Mescalero, NM. This contract position is intended to last for the full school year, allowing for meaningful engagement and impact in the lives of students requiring speech and language services.
Qualifications:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP)
- Masters degree in SLP or a related field
- Experience working in K-12 settings, preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and treatment strategies
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech and language disorders
- Develop tailored IEPs and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student needs
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions
- Maintain thorough documentation of services provided and progress made
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
