Job Description
In Owosso, MI, an opportunity exists for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide critical services in a K-12 school setting during a leave of absence. This contract position involves working with approximately 30 students across two center-based programs, catering to severe and complex communication needs.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly with high needs populations.
- Proficiency in using AAC devices and implementing individualized communication strategies.
- Strong assessment and intervention skills tailored to diverse student needs.
Location:
- Owosso, MI (On-site at a K-12 School).
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments to determine student needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for each student.
- Utilize AAC devices and other communication tools to support students' expressive and receptive language skills.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure effective communication outcomes.
