Job Description
A skilled professional is sought for a contract position in an engaging educational environment in Pekin, IL. This role focuses on providing targeted speech and language therapy to a diverse middle school population, addressing the needs of students who are severe-profound and many of whom utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in SLP
- Valid state licensure as a SLP
- Experience working with severe-profound student populations
- Proficiency in AAC systems and implementation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Location: Pekin, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments to students
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Deliver approximately 35 hours a month of direct therapy
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to facilitate student learning and communication
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy goals as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the ongoing support of students
