Job Description
An opportunity awaits for an experienced SLP or SLPA to provide dedicated support in an engaging educational environment. This position is based in San Jose, CA, within an elementary school setting, focusing on a diverse group of students diagnosed with Mod/Severe Autism.
Qualifications:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC) or Clinical Fellow Year (CFY)
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with non-verbal students
- Proficient in using AAC devices and tablets to facilitate communication
- Strong ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Location:
- San Jose, California
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and develop tailored speech and language interventions
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to create and implement IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services to a caseload of 25-27 students, utilizing appropriate techniques and tools
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate effectively regarding student development
