An exciting opportunity awaits for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support middle school students in Shelton, WA. This contract position is designed for the upcoming school year and involves collaborating closely with a Speech-Language Pathologist to enhance the communication skills of a small student caseload.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students requiring speech and language assistance.
  • Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Monitor and document student progress, ensuring effective communication with educators and parents.
  • Assist in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by contributing relevant observations and data.
  • Maintain professional documentation and comply with state regulations regarding SLPA practices.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate language and communication goals into the classroom.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communication Disorders or a related field.
  • Valid Washington state certification as an SLPA.
  • Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with middle school students, is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
