Job Description
A dedicated professional is needed for a full-time position in an educational setting, focusing on providing essential support to students from Pre-K to 8th grade. This role is crucial in addressing the social and emotional needs of approximately 50 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 13 of which require direct social work services.
Location: Chicago Heights, IL
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 30 minutes of individualized social work services to students as outlined in their IEPs.
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations to assess student needs and develop appropriate service plans.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student goals.
- Implement weekly social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons in each classroom, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
- Current state licensure as a social worker.
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and social-emotional learning principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
