Job Description
Seeking a dedicated professional to support students in a K-12 school setting located in Chicago, IL. This full-time position is focused on delivering essential social work services to students with individualized education programs (IEPs), fostering their emotional and educational development.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
- Valid state licensure as a Social Worker.
- Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students.
- Strong understanding of special education processes and IEP development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Location: Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide 30 minutes of social work services as outlined in student IEPs.
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations for students requiring social work.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings to advocate for student needs.
- Develop and deliver weekly social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons in classrooms.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Monitor student progress and adjust services as necessary.
