Job Description
An opportunity exists for a dedicated Social Worker to support students in a K-12 educational setting. This role focuses on providing essential social work services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), fostering their emotional and social development.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or higher.
- Current state licensure or certification in social work.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with special needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Experience providing Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons.
Location:
Cicero, IL
Responsibilities:
- Provide 30 minutes of social work services to each student as outlined in their IEP.
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations for students requiring social work assessments.
- Actively participate in IEP meetings to advocate for student needs and progress.
- Deliver weekly SEL lessons to promote emotional intelligence and social skills across all classrooms.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to students' needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of student progress and services provided.
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student well-being and academic success.
