Job Description
An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional ready to contribute their expertise in a K-12 educational setting. This contract position focuses on providing essential social work services to students during the extended school year, from June 10th to July 1st, with orientation scheduled for June 9th.
Location:
Naperville, IL (with sessions in Oak Forest, IL)
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW)
- Valid state licensure as a social worker
- Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with K-12 students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals
- Cultural competence and commitment to equity in education
Responsibilities:
- Provide assessments, interventions, and support to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
- Conduct crisis interventions and provide support during emergencies
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
