An opportunity exists for a dedicated professional to support middle school students with diverse learning needs. This contract position involves managing a full-time caseload of 20 students, focusing on mild to moderate special education cases. The role is designed for the upcoming school year, commencing on August 8, 2025, and concluding on May 20, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Valid state certification in Special Education
- Experience working with middle school-aged students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset to work effectively with staff and families
- Previous experience handling mild to moderate cases preferred
Location: David City, NE
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop tailored IEPs that outline educational goals and strategies.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special education requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure a comprehensive learning environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting IEPs and instructional methods as needed.
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress and challenges.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to student support.
