Job Description
This position is for a Special Education Teacher working with students in grades K-6 in an elementary school setting. The role involves supporting student success in a co-teacher environment across two school buildings, with a focus on small group instruction and one-on-one teaching. The program emphasizes specialized instruction and accommodations tailored to each student's needs.
Location:
- La Vista, Nebraska
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction in K-6th-grade classrooms within a co-teacher model
- Support students in small groups and 1:1 settings to reinforce learning objectives
- Implement accommodations as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and adapt curriculum and instructional strategies
- Monitor student progress through data collection and regular progress monitoring
- Maintain detailed records to support compliance with special education regulations
- Participate in meetings related to IEP development and student support plans
Desired Qualifications:
- Nebraska state teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-6)
- Familiarity with co-teaching strategies and specialized instructional methods
- Strong skills in data collection, progress monitoring, and implementing IEP accommodations
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and promoting inclusive education
